key fob issues
I have a new just two months old (2016) trailhawk with about 1200 miles . Has been in for the same issue three times. Plus one time that the problem corrected itself when I reached the dealer. Man did I feel like a jerk.
So here it is. The key fobs work intermittently. The first visit they claimed the RF was bad and replaced it. Next time ( different dealer ) said one key fob was bad. When I returned home the other was working ( had not been ) like by magic. This last time, today, they claimed the capacitors had to be re-set.
Here is the thing. The reason I bought this car is it can be towed behind a RV. So the aftermarket products have been added to the car. The tech today is blaming the aftermarket products for the fault. However cannot say why they are at fault. He wants me to remove everything including all the wiring. I told him no problem however if the problem persists he would be personally backcharged for the labor to do so. I contacted the vendor that supplied the aftermarket items and their tech guy laughed. " Typical dealer stuff ".
What I'm curious about is that is anyone else experiencing the same issues with or without the tow package additions.
BTW there are two pages in the owners manual devoted to how to set up for towing and then set up to drive. If jeep didn't expect this I think the two pages should be removed.
Any help would be appreciated
