L.E.D problems

Ok, so heres my situation. I ordered 2 led dome or map lights. They are 44mm and are rigid loop i think. I tryed to put one in and it light for about a half a second and started to smoke.. I dont want to do anything else wrong so can some body tell me what to do!?!?!

there shouldnt be the rigid loops, should be festoon if i remember correctly

i got them from autolumination. In the description it says it will replace 578. And thats what the OEM bulb says..

I have had autolumination festoon bulbs (non rigid loop, although I don't think it matters) for two years with no issue. Bad bulb maybe?

rigid loops have to hook on, the festoon bulbs just push in...

no idea why they would smoke tho...did u put them in both ways?

Yea, but i dont know how to put the rigid loop ones in. I guess ill try to find festoon bulbs. Also are festoon led's universal?
