Misfire?

Hey guys, I have 2010 srt8 and it's running funny. While idling(cold) I barly press the gas and the RPM's will drop below 500 and bounce up to 1000 over and over. Now last week I had a cylinder 2 misfire so I replaced the 2 plugs and it ran fine until today. The part that confuses me is that it's not throwing any codes.... I'm leaning toward maybe a bad injector but I would think It would throw a code. It's still under warranty but I can't get it looked at till Friday so if I can fix it before then, that would be awesome. Hope you guys can help! Thanks, justin.

Re: Misfire?

I think your going down the right track, first thing to check would be the injectors. Have you checked your spark plug wires with a meter? If not do that too.

Re: Misfire?

No spark plug wires I believe after 2007. They moved to coil over plug design. I solved it tho. Swapped all the plugs and noticed they were a little white (vacuum leak), so I checked my lines and sure enough, my one braided line had a whole in it running from my intake to my catch can. Fixed the line and has been good since!

Re: Misfire?

a problem like that and you are just going to have to check off a list. Like you had mentioned the injector is where i'd start, then on to all the (somewhat) obvious things. hopefully you get it, if not hopefully its one trip to the shop and they can knock it out!
