Misfire on Cylinder 7

When going down the road today I hit a decent size puddle in the road and my wk shut off. The air filter was soaked. Car didn't want to start. I let it sit for a few minutes and tried to start it. After cranking for a few seconds it start but was running awful. I got it home and it was throwing a P0307 and P2320. I replaced the coil with a new coil. I swapped the spark plug on cylinder 7 with cylinder 6. (I didn't get a plug when I was at parts store because I thought it was the coil). I also did an oil change, oil looked good no water. Still getting the misfire. When I pulled the spark plug it was soaked in gas. Anyone have any ideas what the problem could be?

When you swapped the plug with cylinder 6 what happened? Did the problem follow the spark plug? You could try swapping injector on 7 with injector on 6 to see if it follows, if it does it may be a bad injector. You could run a compression test on that cylinder and compare to the others. If you sucked in water its possible you bent a valve (worst case). Do you still have codes?

Re: Misfire on Cylinder 7

When I swapped plugs the problem sounded like it stayed on the same spot. I have seen P2314, P2320, P2302, and P0307. The P2314, P2320, and P2302 came after I started swapping coil packs/plugs. Really starting to worry its something major...

If it turns out to be something major, is this something insurance would cover? (I have full coverage)

You can try but I wouldn't think so. Since you went through some water, check and make sure all connectors are clean and dry. Grounds are good, make sure you have a good strong 12V supply. These new cars act really funky if they have bad ground or weak voltage.

I have zero compression on cylinder 7 and 120 on cylinder 8. I think it's a dropped valve on drivers side maybe even passenger side with a slightly bent valve. Is there a possibility of a messed up/warped piston?

Pop off the valve cover in that side and make sure that your can followers (ie lifers ) did not pop out. If the did pop out it won't work correctly.
