Mother of all repairs without answers
So in the middle of June I took my '06 Grand Cherokee 5.7 in as we got a warning light saying our transmission was overheating. I have an aftermarket warranty (thankfully right now) so instead of working on the car as is my usual routine, I took it to the dealership. They promptly replaced....
- transmission lines
- trans. cooler
- radiator lines
Most of the cooling components are integrated so thats why they all got replaced. What do I care, right? The warranty paid for it! But, two days later, the light and fan came on again. After several back and forth trips to the dealership for diagnosis (the problem was intermittent) they kept my vehicle beginning on July 1st.
Since that time they forgot about my car for about 5 weeks (only after opening the transmission so I couldn't drive it elsewhere) and replaced the following trying to fix this issue:
1. All Fluid
2. Valve Body (the temp sensor is in the valve body, the replace the whole thing)
3. Trans. Filters
4. Valve Body (yes, a second time)
5. Pressure sensor in the transmission
As of now, they still can't get my PCM to program. I've been told the faulty PCM caused the valve bodies to go but they can't program the PCM so here I am 65 days later and I still have a non-functioning Jeep.
The positive is, I've been driving a decent loaner with better gas milage and my warranty has paid for everything. The negative... I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR!
Any ideas? I don't think they are getting any closer.
