Mother of all repairs without answers

So in the middle of June I took my '06 Grand Cherokee 5.7 in as we got a warning light saying our transmission was overheating. I have an aftermarket warranty (thankfully right now) so instead of working on the car as is my usual routine, I took it to the dealership. They promptly replaced....

- transmission lines
- condensor
- radiator
- trans. cooler
- radiator lines

Most of the cooling components are integrated so thats why they all got replaced. What do I care, right? The warranty paid for it! But, two days later, the light and fan came on again. After several back and forth trips to the dealership for diagnosis (the problem was intermittent) they kept my vehicle beginning on July 1st.

Since that time they forgot about my car for about 5 weeks (only after opening the transmission so I couldn't drive it elsewhere) and replaced the following trying to fix this issue:

1. All Fluid
2. Valve Body (the temp sensor is in the valve body, the replace the whole thing)
3. Trans. Filters
4. Valve Body (yes, a second time)
5. Pressure sensor in the transmission
6. PCM

As of now, they still can't get my PCM to program. I've been told the faulty PCM caused the valve bodies to go but they can't program the PCM so here I am 65 days later and I still have a non-functioning Jeep.

The positive is, I've been driving a decent loaner with better gas milage and my warranty has paid for everything. The negative... I STILL DON'T HAVE MY CAR!

Any ideas? I don't think they are getting any closer.

Re: Mother of all repairs without answers

Before they started changing parts, they should have confirmed the overheat condition by checking the transmission temperature at the moment the overheat message appeared. There are many stories regarding this overheat message, and some people just ignore it after they verified that it was a false warning. Most of the time it is a false warning, caused by the PCM. The temperature sensor is not part of the valve body, but it is part of the TRS/solenoid block, which is bolted to the valve body.
Looks that they had not really a clue what the problem was and just changed any possible part. Imagine if you didnīt had the warranty......
So yeh, a good change that the PCM was just triggering the overheat message without a real overheat. Strange only that they are not able to program the new PCM. Or there is a problem with the new PCM, or they donīt know what they are doing.
