Re: MPGs are taking a dump

I've never ever seen 20 mpgs highway with my 05 wk! I get 13.5 city an 15 to 18 at best highway ac on taking it easy. Maybe my jeeps got what yours has lol. I see low 11s and 10s on a reg basis if I drive like a jerk. My jeep has minimal mods an reg maintenance! Wtf should I do? I do have snows on it still but I don't have $ for new tires but they are a "high performance" snow tire. Non studded not very aggressive Nridgestone Blizzak LM 25 4x4. Everything mechanical is in good working condition. Its got to be something like a sensor or pcm or similar I'd think.

Mine does about 15-16 in town and 18-19 hwy (70mph). AC drop is 1.5-2 mpg in town and 1 mpg on hwy. BTW: 89 octane and no special tune. Load runs 40-50% and spark advance is 15-30 degrees depending on whether MDS is active. EGR valve is 65% when open and generally closed on MDS and at zero throttle.

The Heep does a startup rationality check of the IAT, ambient air temp., and coolant temp (if cold). Anything out of general agreement will generate a DTC. If you can monitor IAT and MAP, it will help rule out these items.
