Re: Nav System

The joystick broke in my 2006. I bought the replacement part and plan to install it myself per the online plans I found on LXForums.
It looks like a simple procedure for me (Electrical Engineer), so I image most people could do it.

Joystick was $7, but the site had a $15 minimum, so I bought two...

Re: Nav System

The joystick fix was real easy. Circuit board was quite forgiving as well. I had let the soldering iron get too hot and scorched the board when removing the old joystick, thought there was no way it would work...

That was 4 years ago and haven't had a single problem with it since

Re: Nav System

I ordered the replacement joystick from Mouser electronics. $12 for the part, $20 for shipping...

Re: Nav System

I have an 05 GC Ltd. Just bought it a few months ago. It had the 6cd changer and I wanted a nav unit. I bought a RER for $575 a Lockpick adapter for $200., the bezel insert for $45., GPS antenna for $9.00 and the clock fix software for $16.00 all off Ebay. I bought the REC nav bezel from my local Jeep dealer for $115..

Total $960.00

Go with the RER forget the REC. The RER is a MUCH better unit.

Re: Nav System

Intersting, as that is an easy fix, as my joystick broke and the entire REC unit was replaced with a new one by the dealer under extended warranty.
