Not remove the alternator mounting bracket, rather loosen it. Back off enough to remove the PCV valve bolt. So a search for the shorter bolt so you can do it more easily next time. Believe the shorter size is M8 x 16mm if memory serves. Need SAE Grade 8 metric equivalent (like 8 -10) or above.

Do need to remove the serpentine belt though. Relieve the belt tension on the tensioner, then take it off one pulley.

thanks ill have to call the stealer for this job i think,what makes the egr fail so early?

Why go to the dealer for this, as they will rip you off for the part and the labor; dealer wants $ 119 for the egr, where it is $39 at any parts store. This is a very simple job and any mechanic can do it in under 30 minutes.

ya im gonna have to look into another mechanic,called stealer they want 445$,can you believe that s**t,i just dont want to waste the money if its not bad
