No Blower Speeds, A/C Light on even when blower is off

SO onmy way home from work today I had a blower, A/C, ect. Everything worked fine. Let the car sit for ten mins then went to leave again. I have no blower speeds and when the blower is in the off pos (manual speed) the A/C light still stays on. Any ideas?

I'm kinda leaning towards the control unit seeing how my light stays on even when my fan is off. All door positions work. Another problem though is when im driving 55-60 with the fan off im getting air through the vents (similar to a low setting. When I change to re-circ it goes away.

Any advice? Thanks.

sounds like your blower resistor went on the fritz. remove the glovebox and it is right in the middle on the firewall.

I tested my blower motor with a 12v batt i had lying around. built my own harness. blower motor isnt working. i'm starting there. I checked my resistor, no burnt or melted connector. cross your fingers!

Re: No Blower Speeds, A/C Light on even when blower is off

This sounds like a blower motor resistor to me.

Mine stopped working on all settings except high but my A/C light was only on when it was on the highest setting...turns out the blower speed switch had died on me. My blower resistor was fine though.

No on my girl's liberty her's only worked on high but the A/C light stayed on but the blower wouldn't blow. Her's was just a resistor and the bad one wasn't visibly bad.

I'd start there. Simple fix!

Re: No Blower Speeds, A/C Light on even when blower is off

the resistor is a 5 min job to switch and as the above member stated, there doesnt have to be any visable damage to it for it to fail.

Re: No Blower Speeds, A/C Light on even when blower is off

Thanks. I replaced the resistor in January. The blower worked only on high and that is the only time the AC light was on. The resistor was a simple fix last time so hopefully you all are right and that is all that is wrong this time.
