Re: No start problem

I had this issue a loooong time ago. I had corrosion on the connections to the starter. Cleaned it up and I haven't the issue since.

Did it flash the "service park assist" on the dash when you had the problem?

Re: No start problem

I have an interesting update to my problem with my Grand Cherokee not starting when it's warm outside.

Today the problem flared up once again and my dash showed the ever familiar [P][R][N][D] as if all the gears are selected at once and said "service park assist" then turn the key and all there I hear is a click sound at the starter.

I was stuck in a parking lot sitting there for 30 minutes waiting impatiently for it to start when I popped the hood and pulled the fuse out for the ECM. I sat around for a couple minutes and popped it back in, turned the key and the dash looked normal and on the second turn it started right up. Then I find that my airbag light is on...

Am I right in thinking it's likely the ECM at this point? Can software in these things get corrupt and start doing funny things like this or would it need to be replaced vs reflashed?

Re: No start problem

I responded to your PM, it really sounds like a communication issue. The PRNDL being boxed is an indication that the cluster has no idea what is going on. Fill me in on the questions I asked in the PM and we can go from there.

I think its the pcm or whatever it is under the shifter bezel. Mine used to do that cause my idiot brother spilled something down there. I used to get all those boxes and it would pop out if gear on the highway.
