Re: Oem HID Projector headlight issues

Scott, Do you think that ballast would work? the link I posted. Or do you know where I can get a factory one? I tried looking on line and it looks like I have to buy a whole assembly.

Re: Oem HID Projector headlight issues

So I ordered this ballast http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-OEM-HID-...item3a64aaa3f8 and it came in today. I put the new ballast in the headlight, which was pretty simple to do. Then I hooked up the headlight to the relay and waited a bit before I decided to put everything back together. The light stayed on so I thought I was in the clear. I started to put the headlight in, but then it flickered. Now I was mad cause I thought the new ballast would finally be the answer. I started to check my connections again and the light started flickering again. The more I moved around the wires attached to the pig tail that I wired in it would flicker more. It turns out the one wire coming out of the headlight was broke inside before the part I attached to the pig tail. After some trimming of the wire and reattaching the pig tail. I gave it a good testing, moving around the wires and no flickering this time.
So now I'll have to wait and see if it flickers anymore. And also hope I can talk the ebay seller into not charging me a re-stocking fee when I return the ballast.

Re: Oem HID Projector headlight issues

glad you got it fixed! i always hate when it is something that was overlooked and i find out after i order a new part........ that has happened to me countless times lol get the seller to cancel the transaction on ebay and they will reimburse his fees, maybe he will be less likely to charge you after that?

Well never mind my last post. It did it again this morning. I was so pissed when it started to flicker. When I got to work this morning the driver side headlight was out. I tried to see if the passenger side would flicker if I pulled up on the window switches and it did. So now I guess I have to put the new ballast in because it seems more than just a broken wire. But could it be more than a ballast since I got the passenger side to flicker this morning just by pulling up on the switches? Thoughts?

Re: Oem HID Projector headlight issues

Does anyone might think this might be an issue with my alternator?

I installed the new ballast today. If the headlight still flickers I guess the battery is the next to check right? That's where it's drawing power from. Here's some pics. I put some tape around the ballast just in case it's a moisture issue.

Well I guess it's not a ballast issue cause the headlight just flickered tonight. This is so frustrating. Any ideas?

I'll try it happens at random times. Yesterday I was in a parking garage when it did it.
