Oil leak on front of 3.7L engine

My parents, my sister, and I all have an 05 WK. On the drivers front above the oil pressure switch and closer to the top but on the forward face of the engine, they are all leaking and get the oil leak sludge type gunk.

Any idea what or where it could be leaking from?

Re: Oil leak on front of 3.7L engine

Like the other post, its likely from the oil pressure sender, but you may be dealing with a couple things, could be a valve cover leaking, could be the front cover, there is a plug mounted directly behind the power steering pump, that snaps into the head that has an oring on it that may be leaking.

You may also just be dealing with sloppy oil-change-itus and if the drain channel is not cleaned who knows where the oil will end up.

Re: Oil leak on front of 3.7L engine

I have already replaced the oil pressure switch maybe 3-4 weeks ago and cleaned the engine and oil filter drip pan off. Last week I looked to see if that was the problem from before and it has oil that has dripped onto the oil filter pan. The only place that looks like it has oil is from that spot on the engine itself.
