Replaced the oils pressure switch and it still is having problems. It will randomly die, then the oil light comes on. I can turn it back on right away but it keeps on reoccurring randomly. Any thoughts?

It didnīt die before changing the oil pressure switch? That the oil light comes on after the engine dies, is normal.
When does it die, on a cold engine, or after warming up? How was the idle? (normal/low/erratic) Did you remove any hose or connector (besides the oil pressure switch connector) which you forgot to reconnect?

It has been dying since I got it just now started doing it a little more often. I think it may be more often on a cold engine. It will idle low and then just shut off. I think it happens more often when I'm on a hill but not always.

The jeep died again while on a slant. Was warmed up and had plenty of fuel in tank.

When you do the key dance any fault will show up? (ignition off/run three times and leave in run at the third time. The odometer will show done when no faults stored, or a fault code(s).)

None at all. I put some fuel cleaner(sea foam) in the fuel tank, seeing if that helps

If it starts idling low and then dies, i would also try to do a cleaning of the throttle body, especially the idle air control stepper motor and its air canal.
If it dies suddenly when above idle, i would try a new crank position sensor.

Re: Oil light on, off, on, off, ding, ding, ding, ding

bumping thread for visibility

any update to this issue?

my 05 with 170k just started doing this exact thing. It only happens when i come to a complete stop while in gear, if i shift into neutral the dinging stops, and as soon as i shift back and start driving 2-3 mph it stops. It only dings at a complete stop in drive or in reverse with my foot on the brake.

it's frustrating especially just putting a big chunk of change into it to fix some suspension issues

It's a 2005 5.7 with 122222 miles on it. I checked the oil and it's on the lower end of the "safe" zone. Drives without hesitation and doesn't sound like anything is really wrong.

I did a brief search and found talk about some oil sensor. Can anyone help me out or point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

put some dam oil in that thing first,
