Overheating fro 2005 5.7l hemi

Hey ALL:

Back in April my WK was overheating. Took it down to the Auto shop and they told me that it was a blown head gasket. Then they told me it was a bad water pump and needed a thermostat. I recently got back from overseas from a job and my vehicle overheated again. My wife said it had been doing this as of late. So i got in my vehicle the day of arrival and it overheated and died on the freeway. I took it in and they said the same thing, blown head gasket. Had it towed home. There wasn't milky oil, no white smoke and nothing spitting at me from the open radiator. Decided to take it down to a diagnostic and they said exhaust fumes were coming from the radiator. What is going on and who is telling me the truth?

I presume that the blown head gasket causes combustion gases to escape via the cooling system. They probably did a test for combustion gasses in the coolant.
