Re: P0700 code

Well , dropped it off today . I drove it about 10 miles to the dealer with the tranny shifting goofy the whole way , but no engine light came on ??

We will see what they say tomorrow .

Oh, I have the Warranty paperwork here and the package doesnt cover any electronics but does cover the basic power train ( engine ,Tranny, transfercase ,etc) .

I still have hope Its something stupid or atleast easy to fix but

Re: P0700 code

good luck! Keep us posted. sometimes dealerships can find ways to write certain things off on warranty! Sometimes... they won't .

Re: P0700 code

Thanks!! fingers are crossed !

Just heard from the dealer and they said there are a bunch of codes on there but the one they are really concerned with was the p0876 code ( I am Taking this as ,This code may have caused the others) .
They checked the fluid and it was high but they see it as being frothy as well. He said this usually means there is air being pulled into the system.
He said that most of the time , this is caused by the filter either falling off or cracking and allowing air to be sucked into the lines but, It could also indicate that a "o" ring may have gone bad .

They are dropping the transmission pan and looking deeper into it ( I suspect they have probably done this already).

If its just the filter then it will be about $350 or so . I also had them check and see what needed done as far as the 60,000 mile service ( being I just bought it in August ,I was unsure if any of this needed done. )

He said they wouldnt have done any of that and it would need both Diff fluid changed and the transfer case fluid change . so i told him to go ahead and do them along with a oil change. This will be another $320 or so

I am expecting a call back from them later ..... More to come !

Re: P0700 code

Nice to know after all these years with problems with those 545rfe spin-on filters, they still are having difficulties!

Glad everything worked out for you, and it was such a simple and cost-effective fix.
