Instead I have been using, testing, reading the program for a year for the Transformer guy.
WHat is the Transformer? It is basically a black box and it allows you to use the volume control on the back of the wheel to shift (It's pretty sick) You can also controll transmissin shift firmness. Other programs the box has are not working fully yet but they are line-lock and 2WD mode!
It will get cracked then we are going to do the 2011+ as soon as the 06-10 program is done.
So why mention this because it is a plug and play box and it works flawlessly and would save a lot of unnecessary work to get paddles unless of course you like the look of them.
Either way nice Mod I've always like it!!
Yeah I know the tranzformer was in the works, I wanted something in the meantime while it was still being cracked. Also this gives a better feel for shifting I find. It's a cleaner install if done properly, but this way you have actual paddles. I've always like them. It wasn't that hard to do actually. People were just going the wrong way about it (making a different shift command, trying to hack the tcm, and other things.) and mine is simple and reliable.

Yeah I'll post pics when I get chance. Yeah you can get them on eBay, you can use any paddle as long as the electrical is right.

From what I can tell, the tranzformer has been "in the works" for years.

Yeah that's what pushed me for a solution. I got tired of it being in the works. Lol

Re: Paddle shifters for WK1

I'm interested in this mod. Just need to see the full parts list so I can look at the budget.

Tranzformer had a long list of potential features, including (but not limited to), putting your 4x4 into 2wd (sweet), disabling stability protection (without having to push the ESP button everytime you start the vehicle), but the Tranzformer had a hefty price tag (rumored).

Re: Paddle shifters for WK1

I got the paddles for about 170 bucks with shipping. Soldering iron and solder, bout 25 bucks. Wire, connectors and shrink tube-25 bucks. Depends on what you have already to do it. I don't sell the paddles, but I can point you in the right direction of someone who does sell them(exact same as mine) but look on eBay for the paddles and see what you can find for cheap. Post up if you need anything else. Keep in mind these are ballpark prices. It can vary.

Yes I agree I like to have them too LOL. This is the only thing I don't like about having the transformers having the actual paddles.

I have had it for a year or so now trying to get the 2WD mode and the line-lock working. The last person that had the box was too busy from what I heard to keep going back and forth with the programmer luckily I give my Jeep to my computer guy for weeks on end while he does the code off the Jeep and sends it off. I believe it will be working 100% in a few Mounts may be even weeks finally.

So far the shift function works dead on. Also the trans can be made to shift hard or soft it can shift so hard it gets scary LOL.

Re: Paddle shifters for WK1

As I mentioned earlier the clock spring pin out is not the same as the LX that is why I'm using the transformer.
