I've had this same post probably 10 times (not word for word) where someone else has something that works, thats better, etc etc. they clearly do not work if no one has used it..? The transformer, the amg paddles all of them, something doesn't work with the jeep. This DOES work and I have proved it. This thread was to get the FREE and SIMPLE advice to do an inexpensive mod, not to compare who else apparently has done this before.

gitrdun, i'm still not understanding how you attached the paddles to your steering column. Also, can you post a set of paddles on ebay that you used?

No lag. It actually works faster than the autostick, where you have to grab the shifter and actually move it, compared to just slapping it over to shift, the circuit won't respond fast enough because of how the autostick module is set up. With the paddles you don't have to hold it at all, just pull and shift.

Re: Paddle shifters for WK1

I've actually noticed a lag with the stock autostick, I think it's just part of the electronics.

Re: Paddle shifters for WK1

Is not because of the electronics. It's because the nag1 is not a double clutch transmission, paddles shifters were actually developed for dual clutch trannies, it was the only thing to be fast enough to react with how fast the tranny can cycle.
