Re: popping noise? sway bar? links?

Area circle in Red is lower control arm (front side). Bolt is on the back side of the circled area, that was loose. Put a 1/4 turn on it fixed the popping noise

Wow I don't think I've ever even noticed that bolt/nut. Thanks for the pic, I'll be tightening that bugger up this weekend!

This did the trick for me! Over a year of living with this noise - I replaced sway bar end links, sway bar bushings, upper control arms, the noise just didn't seem to go away.

Tried to tighten everything that I could...missed this bolt. Crawled under this morning, was able to tighten the driver's side bolt a good turn and a half, and now it is quiet as the first day I bought it! Awesome.

If it wasn't close to 100 degrees outside, I'd go do this right now. I'll just have to wait until it cools down tonight!

Re: popping noise? sway bar? links?

Correct me if i'm wrong, but isnt that one of the adjustments for the alignment? if so, you might get it checked.

I'm also not entirely certain, but I thought it was the back bolts of the LCA that are involved in the caster alignment (by moving the rear of the LCA away from or towards the frame).

Not sure if the front bolt would have anything to do with that or not. Based on how loose mine was, and that I had no alignement issues running like that for a year, I can't see it being a big player in caster adjustment...

Certainly something that I'll look at though, thanks!

The front didn't budge as I was tightening it down - not sure if that is by design or by rust...did it move for you?

The metal sticking out is part of it,keeps it from spining while you hit it from the rear that way you dont have to worry about reaching around
