Re: popping noise? sway bar? links?

I had the wk on a lift when I tightened it. I was able to get a lot of leverage using a deep socket and a breaker bar.
I have no illignment issues either. Drives great. When I tightened it, the left side wouldnt budge so i tried the right and i got a 1/4 turn on it. In My opinion I don't think it has anything to with alignment directly.

Damn mine was super tight. Not able to turn at all. I'm considering taking my front sway bar off altogether. Over all the noises it makes haha

Hey, fellas, just got an alignment today and YES that IS adjustable. He looked it up 'cuz he didnt think there was enough adjustment to get it done.

Re: popping noise? sway bar? links?

Bump so I have this same problem... I take it a proper alignment would fix this?

Re: popping noise? sway bar? links?

These forums and, in particular, this thread is just one of the reasons they are soooo valuable to us members. After lowering my WK with Eibach SRT springs I went to have it aligned and they couldn't get it right because it needed adjustable upper ball joints. After installing them I took it to another place (bad move) and they song and danced me, but finally got it "close". Since shortly after they aligned it I started developing the "popping" front end noise described here. It kept on getting worse as time went by. After looking at everything in the front suspension and reading this thread, this morning I decided to take it in (to my great alignment shop), armed with the photo that 4.whoa provided. I asked the tech. to check these first. WAA LAA!! The right LCA bolt was loose (1/2 turn to tighten), and he said you could see where it had been moving. Needless to say, this solved the problem. He spent about an hour on it, going over everything and insuring everything was properly tightened and aligned. We always have our vehicles aligned with us in the vehicle to insure it is aligned in the configuration that it is driven in most of the time.

So, thanks to all that provided input to this thread.....and to those that provide input to all the other threads that resolve problems with our WK's. I am sure we all appreciate the help and sure appreciate the $$$ we may save in the process. Plus, we can go into the shop/stealer armed with a little knowledge, which may keep them from attempting to gouge us by replacing parts needlessly. Again, thanks to all.
