Possible t case problem

I was driving my 05 gc home through the blizzard in ny last night and out of nowhere it dropped into 4 low with a violent bang which I imagine was from going into 4 low at 50 mph. I crawled it home and messed with it today. The service 4x4 system message is on and the t case motor keeps humming. Every time I managed to get it out of low within 5 min it would go back in without even moving the car so finally I got it out and quickly pulled the fdcm fuse out and it couldn't go back to 4 low. The car is now operating in 4 high but doesn't feel very good. It seems like the front diff is locked but there aren't many dry roads around to know for sure. I'm not sure what kind of damage was caused by it dropping into low at highway speeds. What would cause the car to do that? It has qt2 and 4 low is a manual operation. If the car is operating fine now then should the transfer case be ok? I'm narrowing it down to tcase fluid level, front diff, or the tcase control module. Car was a beast up until the moment it happened. Any ideas.

Re: Possible t case problem

There was just a thread on here some weeks ago regarding a same incident, where the T-case switched to 4Lo by itself. I didnīt see a final outcome, but it seems that the front control module is faulty. You say that it feels as if the front diff is locked. If it is, then you will get tire hop when making tight turns.
If the T-case doesnīt make strange noises now, then it should be ok.

I dropped it off at jeep for a diagnostic today. Ive confirmed that the front diff is locked. Thanks for the help. I'll update the problem when I get the car back.
