Power loss

Hi all,
New to the forum. I was guided here while searching for an answer to a problem with my WK.
It's a 2006 WK CRD 3.0.

Hoping you guys can help me out. I'll say a hello in the correct place after, just wanted to get moving on this one prety quick because I'm stuck.

Yesterday returning home all of a sudden my GC lost power. It was still going along but would only accelerate very slowly, wouldn't kick down either.
I pulled over, switched off for 2 mins then restarted. The problem went away, it drove home normally for 5 miles.
Today it the same again, stopped switch off restarted, all back to normal. 1 Mile same happens again, same procedure and back to normal.
I had to do this a few times to get back home.

I had something similar when I did not get the air intake pipe fitted correctly and it was starved of air. Felt exactly the same and it does sound as if it's not breathing right, restricted.
Not sure if that is it, I'll have a good look tomorrow morning.

There were no warning lights just loss of power / grunt. ..... I don't have a code reader unfortunately.

Anyone here have any idea what might be causing this?

When I had the transmission fluid changed at the local Jeep garage, I ask for that transmission plug adapter to be changed also because I read they are prone to leaking from around it. Is it possible they have done something wrong when doing that? .... Or is totally unconnected?

Love my Jeep, just done loads of work on it. 2 " lift, rock sills, front & rear 2" reciever for my cradle mounted Warrior winch. I was hoping to get out soon with it to do a bit of wild camping, which I love. This problem couldn't of picked a worse time, hope it doesn't muck up my holiday break completely.
