Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday

The Hemi's are relatively cheaper but since I'm a student it'll be hard on gas.

What do you guys think?

Cheers,

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday

83K miles is still not low mileage by any means.

He's not too far off.
Full retail at a dealer would be about $13k
The jeep itself is only worth $8.3K

And price includes 6.25% tax and title fees?

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday

AND if you can get a hemi, do it!

I love my V6, but after everything I've done to it I only get 16 city, 25-26 highway usin premium.

Some guys on here with a few simple mods, CAI and exhaust then get a diablo sport tuner and get almost 22 highway!

And the power on the hemi is delicious

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday

Yeah, like mentioned above, the difference in gas mileage between the 3.7 and 5.7 in real world conditions is nowhere near as big as you would think, if that is your only concern with the hemi.

Personally, I still think it is a little on the high side, but only by about a grand or two. I certainly wouldn't feel like I was being ripped off at that price if the thing is in perfect conition.

I found 8 grand cherokees under 10k, with many under 100,000km (in all trim levels and engine options) within 100km of Toronto.

If you really want that one, I would print out a couple of those adds and show the guy that he is still a little on the high side and that they aren't exactly in high demand at the moment!

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday

Hemi...... I have personally, along with many other members, have looked into hemi swaps. Both 6.1L and 5.7L

*****Drive both, then decide for yourself*****

Stock 3.7L V6 is going to be 14 city, 20-21 highway. It's a heavy jeep!!!
-And that's a 2wd

Re: Purchasing my Jeep on Monday

Get the Hemi. I had the 2005 4.7L...when it crapped out I looked into an engine swap...the time and money would have ended up being more than the car itself if worth.

My next GC will be a Hemi for sure...it's worth the power boost.
