Rad fan blew/not working

Hey all havent posted in a while. 112k on the rig and never an issue. Was driving to work today and ran into some construction. After sitting a while i noticed a bit high temp. Figured the fans aint come on yet. Well as im sitting as you can already suspect, the temps get a lil to high for me. So im all oh great. Turn the heat on and she starts to cool. So after i arrive at work i check to see if the fan is running. Its not. Anyone know of what this 50 amp fuse is called and where to get one? I figure ill swap it and see what happens. Thanks and any other suggestions are welcome as well.

Re: Rad fan blew/not working

If the fan fuse blew, then or the fan is drawing too much current, or there is a short in the wiring.
I would first check the wires to see if they are not rubbing against some metal part. Also check if the cooling fan can be rotated by hand easily. Which engine do you have?

Ah yes and I checked the fan on lunch and she squeaks a lil lil but but not jamming or hanging up at all. Seems to move freely nothing that would make me think it would pull extra current due to drag.

Re: Rad fan blew/not working

If you donīt see anything wrong with the wiring, i would try an other fuse first.

Know where I can get a fuse? I'm also gonna see if there is power even getting to the fan. That would pinpoint the issue pretty well.

Re: Rad fan blew/not working

The stealer for sure will have them, but i imagine that most auto parts stores will have them.

Dunno I tried looking online at the local stores. I don't know the exact name of the fuse but I wasn't able to find one. It's a 50 amp for the main but there are relays too. Any insight?

Re: Rad fan blew/not working

Since the fuse is blown, i would just take it out and show it to the first auto parts store you encounter. If they donīt have it, they most probably can tell you where to get it.

Haven't fixed this yet and almost don't need to. This truck runs so cool it doesn't even get hot. I'm usually moving so that's obvious. I changed the fluid like last year so not even a year on it. Lasted a good 100k and the cooling performance def increased. I've always liked this motor.
