Rain Sensor / Headlight Unit

I recently got a 2007 model WK and could not get the rain sensing wipers or the auto headlights working. After investigating a bit I found that the actual module behind the rear view mirror is not there !

I got a quote from Jeep :
$97.5 for the unit
$150 for fitting and configuration

That seems a bit harsh to me. If I bought the module myself, would there be more to it than just fitting it to the windscreen, plugging in the wire and enabling it in the EVIC ?

(The picture is upside down for some or other reason ...)

Re: Rain Sensor / Headlight Unit

it has to be aligned at the dealer to work correctly. if you live in an urban area the smartbeam system is worthless.

What does this alignment entail ? The mounting LED bracket is still on the windscreen, so would it not just be a case of clipping on the module ?

nope, it is a process that can only be done at the dealer.

I am convinced that my WK never had Smartbeam. So I just want to get the Rainsense working again as well as the Auto headlights.

I removed the headlight sensor from the dash, but it looked fine. Stalk on A however still does nothing and I have no EVIC auto headlight options, so I guess it will have to go to the dealers.

Re: Rain Sensor / Headlight Unit

Hmm, could that thus just mean that my Auto Headlight sensor in the middle of the dash needs replacement ? Is there a way to test the sensor ?
