I was hoping it would do it while my gf was helping me so I could try and pinpoint the vibration, but of course it didnt do it....
Anyone else want to chime in plz with any ideas?

Re: Rear End Vibration

did you rule out warped rotors? Might be worth swapping if you are doing the pads anyway.. mine was vibrating at high speed breaking.. replaced all 4 rotors'pads and now its smooth, like butter :-)

I dont think it a rotor problem bc I have no vibration when breaking at speed, but u never know...I just finished my rear pads so we will see if that helps anything....

Re: Rear End Vibration

Well I still havent figured out the issue and seems to be getting a bit worse. I dont know if it is because it is getting colder or whatever is wrong is getting worse, but the vibrations still only lasts the 1st few times im stopped.

My Jeep still has the original rear shocks at 70,000 do you guys think this could be causing the vibration at rest?

Re: Rear End Vibration

I would sit in the back of the truck while your gf starts and stops a few times. That should help you pinpoint axtacly where the noise is coming from. I'd bet that it's something inside the truck thats rattling around.

I will give it a shot this weekend, but it definitely feels like something mechanical...hopefully you are right though!

Re: Rear End Vibration

So I think the problem may be my e-brake. Maybe it isnt releasing properly? Do you guys think something needs adjusted/lubed? I change my brakes, but have never messed with an e-brake before...thoughts?

Re: Rear End Vibration *UPDATE*

It appears the problem was my transmission the whole time. The center shaft of the transmission (?) sheered off, as well as the torque converter. I dont know if it going out was somehow transferring the vibration to the rear or what.

I swore it was brake/suspension related so i didnt thing it was urgent. Lesson learned after spending 3,100 to fix my trans.
