Rear Hubs

So I have a rear axle seal leaking and the only thing I can find is to replace the whole rear hub. My question is, 2 mechanics thought it might me a whole axle/hub assembly and not just the hub. I can't find any whole assemblies but think its just the hub. Were the older GC(pre 05) the whole assemblies or what would make them think that? The hubs cost around $130 and since I don't like doing just one side I'm gonna do both rear hubs and change the brakes while I have everything off anyway.

Re: Rear Hubs

Mine was leaking and just replaced the axle seal on the side that was leaking. A small ridge often gets built up where the old seal was. Make sure to file the ridge on the housing smooth or else the new seal will leak.
