Ok, guys so I woke up this morning to go to work, and my Jeep (3.7 2005) and did not want to stay on. I put the key in the ignition and this red dot on the right side kept on blinking. The car started but after a few seconds it turned off. The same thing happened at 3:30 in the morning trying to leave my friend's house, but I was able to keep in on by revving it and quickly changing to reverse. I'm at work now so I might have to check on the car later today.
If you guys know anything please let me know, Thank you.
when i bought the car the remote wasnt working, i never changed the battery on the remote, last night the key with the remote got wet, but i never open the car with the remote, just the key
the immobilizer is sending a signal to the ignition, doesnt matter if you open with the remote or the key itself. the chip got maybe wet. you should open the key and dry it out with a piece of paper or a cloth. i fell in the sea once with the key in my pocket. it never worked again
fob yes, but the skim or sentury key only activates when "excited" by the win or skim module. How does your jeep run if you get a key with NO remote..... I have cut hundreds of keys with NO remote for people as lock outs to run the car with no remote..these keys have no battery and only a fob. I dont run bs tech... im telling ya you dont need a battery to run the car. You do need a battery for the fob operation to work but for the skim/sentury "secrete key datat" transmittal you dont.
my key got wet a few month ago when i fell into the sea. it worked for a few days but than packed up. if tried all sorts of tricks but the engine only runs for 2 sec and than dies. what could cause that, you think??
