How hard is it to remove and replace the exterior door handle? My passenger side is kinda annoying in the sense that you have to pull a little bit harder on it to open the door. I get alot of passengers who think the door is locked because they pull on it, and it doesnt open. If you pull on it a little harder, it opens fine. I dont know if it is just worn out of what, but it bothers me.
remove the three screws on the interior door panel and then pull the panel off. you will see the bolts to remove the handle from behind. a socket wrench is all that is needed.
When I got it back from the dealer, a few days later I had to get in the passenger side for something and shut the door, only to find out the didn't connect the interior handle to the rod. So I had to pop the panel off and reconnect it. Everything works now, its just the exterior handle requires a little more travel to open. I havent taken it off to see how it is built and if something inside of it could wear down or something, but it does work, and will open the door everytime.
the handles have springs on them....pull it out and see if its rusted or something. When you pull the handles on the front doors,,,,you have to loosen the actuator arm an push it to the side to get to the nuts on the handle.
