RPM problem

So here's the situation. When i accelerate hard my RPMs go up to 5,000 rpm and keep going. It seems like it isn't shifting into the next gear or something. And if i let off the gas the RPMs go back down. But i have never seen this problem in any other car. It isn't a big problem, but gets really annoying. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Re: RPM problem

Id really start with new spark plugs, egr valve, new fluids in the front/rear diffs, tranny and trans case. Its hard to pinpoint problems accurately when you dont know whats been done.

A good rule of thumb is if you bought it used, replace all the cheap little stuff tha wears out that alot of people overlook.
