rusted disc brake dust sheilds

my front disc brake dust shields are both so rusted that they are starting to rub on rotors,08 GC 3.0,do you guys replace those sheilds or just remove them and leave them off,yes Im in ontario and have 290,000 klm.almost 150,000 miles.

I'm very surprised that they would rust so bad in such a short time. Are you sure it's rust and not some sort of foreign object damage that's causing the rubbing? In any case I don't think it would be a good idea to run without the shields there. From previous experience with an old Jeep, I think you'll have to pull the wheel bearing hubs to remove the shields. Maybe they just need to be cleaned or straightened a bit.

its rusted bad ,I replaced both hub bearings already ,they were pretty bad then,should have replaced at that time,guess ill' check dealer for price.thanks.

Mine are rusted to hell too, when I changed my hubs I just banged the rust off, straightened them out and popped 'em back on
