Sand in Windows Causing Scratches

Hey all. I have a 2010 GC WK with a 2" lift. I have been regularly driving her on the beach in NY for the past two years. I've always had an issue with sand getting into the the window cavity and scratching the glass. I have been rather conscience of not using the windows while I'm on the beach, but when the weather is nice out it happens. After I drive on the beach I always clean her and spray down the windows into the door in an attempt to clear any sand. I am curious to know if anyone else has experienced the issue and if anyone has any solutions. I tried getting a picture of the scratches but being how its glass and less than 1mm wide scratches the cameras cannot focus on them. Thank in advance!

Re: Sand in Windows Causing Scratches

can you take your finger and wipe the edge of the rubber piece that touches the glass as it goes up and down? that squeegee action from that rubber is what causes the scratches

If you have a worn out chamois, keep it in the vehicle.. wet it VERY slightly and run it across the sandy spots. Seems to work better than trying to blow it out...
