Shaking at 60+ mph

Hey guys, I have an 08 grand Cherokee limited, and recently it has started to shake at 60 miles an hour or faster. Any idea to why this is? We just got a bunch of snow, and possibly the snow is jammed somewhere? Or else I was thinking of the u joints. Any ideas would be appreciated!

Not really any too deep of snow.. I'll have to look at the weights. You should be able to see them on the wheels, right?

I had some snow in my wheels a few days ago when i drove thru the 2 foot snow drift in my driveway. Bad vibration at 60 and up from the snow throwing the tires balance off.

But yes, you should easily see the weights. If there all there then id make sure the wheels are cleaned out just in case some snow is in them

If possible, get your GC in a garage overnight, make sure all has melted. If still shakes, I would also suggest weight came off... Snow and Ice will or can create that shaking experience. As if the wheels were off balanced. Hope it helps.

Sounds good guys, I checked the weights on the wheels, all there.. So hopefully if it ever warms up, it'll melt away. Any ideas on where to clean the snow out? I'm sure it has to jam in some small area

Re: Shaking at 60+ mph

When I first saw this post, it reminded me of the dreaded death wobble that occurred in early 90s Cherokees and Grand Cherokees!

On a different note, how new are the tires/are they rotated and properly maintained? I had a wobble problem because the inner steel belt on a previous set of tires broke loose from the rubber which caused it to be off balance.
