It could help separate the boot from the plug wall. Dont think it'll help with debris that may fall down.......just shootin in the dark here
And yes I did check my drawers to see if I had one of these laying around haha, I would have tried it if I did!

Re: Spark Plug HELP

I just changed all the plugs on my '05 - It went easy - but I prayed. The lord answered. I took it for a test spin and I can feel right off that the "lag" that had been present was gone - and I mean GONE. What a difference.

One other thing I dont know what to make of it. ONE of my plugs had oil on it and and pretty bad too. It was up on the ceramic part and on the threads a little too but I dont know if it got there from pulling the plug out.

I pulled a flash light out and there was some oil sorta on the 'lip' down inside the head. It was under the 2nd cylinder back drivers side the one with the coil.
There is no oil on the coil or on the outside of the boot. Cracked head? maybe? Crazy wierd.

I have been getting a little black smoke and 'mis' the last two times I started it up like it was running a little rough. I figured bad plugs. They were original with 70K miles. The Jeep runs awesome other than the smoke the last few times and when you get the smoke it was sorta like it had a 'mis' but it would go away within a few seconds. Isnt black smoke GAS?? Tonight when I started it up with the new plugs there was no 'mis' or smoke- Anybody got an idea? Cracked head bad valve? Why was the oil on the CERAMIC? the plug did look fouled too though... any ideas?

I would start by checking the more simple causes. Check your PCV valve, if it's defective, that could be a factor.

Re: Spark Plug HELP

Some oil on the ceramic (top) of the plug is usually from the VC gaskets. they have O rings around the plug holes.
Generally black smoke is fuel/carbon , white-water ,and blue-oil
