srs module

I am new to the site and need help.
The air bag warrning lights stay on my 2005 Grand Cherokee.
I need to know how to find my srs module first.
Anyone tell me what to look for before I replace my module ie plugs/wire ect that might be bad.
Thank you,
Craig

Re: srs module

You may want to get it actually diagnosed first and see what code its throwing.

The wk's have a problem with the airbag harness under the drivers seat, you hit it with your feet from time to time and can cause it to come lose.

Also, the passenger seat may need to be "recalibrated"

Re: srs module

Yeah, i believe the orc module (occupant restraint controller) is under the passanger seat and the wires are pretty common to get munched up under there (right in the middle front of the seat). Make sure you dont have anything under the seats (lifting weight off the seat) if the scales see negative weight you will get the airbag light. With the options and the costs to repair I would have it diagnosed before throwing parts at it.

Re: srs module

Are both the passenger AND the driver airbag lights on?

If it is relating to just one seat, I believe it can often be fixed by checking all of the connections under the seat (unplugging, looking at the condition, and re-plugging everything back in).

I have not heard of people solving a problem where both ORS lights were on via this method - but pulling the codes will definitely give you an idea where to start.
