Re: still getting a misfire.. why?

seafoam should clear it right up and remove the misfire.... as i said earlier it has happened to me as well and seafoam has always fixed it and cleared the code.

Re: still getting a misfire.. why?

Seafoamed it again yesterday and it smoked almost as bad as it did on Wednesday night. I disconnected my battery for 40mins or so to clear all codes. Reinstalled my tune as well. Lets see where this goes...

Re: still getting a misfire.. why?

4.7 is a very dirty engine. I suggest seafoam every 10k to all 4.7 owners

Re: still getting a misfire.. why?

well it came back.. lasted a month a thousand miles and this AM the CEL was back on for a misfire on cylinder 2. i dont know if its related to my use of remote start or cold weather because it just came out of nowhere. its been running great..

Re: still getting a misfire.. why?

Pull the intake, rotate crank to get valves sealed (cyl #2) against head, pour cleaner down intake. Pump air into the cylinder and see if there are bubbles. Indicates a sticking valve. Let cleaner sit for a few hours and see if the carbon breaks off. Blow out intake runner and spark plug hole. Drive (HARD). Seafoam again. Roadtest.

I'm still under the asumption that you have a sticky valve, but since you've been foaming alot I'd check the plug just to be safe aswell.
