strange rubbing

Anybody can assist why this (rubbing) have happened ?? If i turn the wheels all the way to the right/left i see no rubbing between the tyre and the wheel well. The picture however shows that there was. That's on the left side and should be very recent because it's clean. The right side has no signs of touch at all.

I have recently changed my tyres but this is not the cause as i am running on the same setup (set rims, 255/45/20R and Startech springs) for the past 3 years with no problems.

Appreciate your ideas.

Re: strange rubbing

Did someone hold the steering wheel in the full left/right positions, because as soon as you release the steering wheel, it will return a bit and could be enough for the tire not to touch.
Is there not a sign of rubbing to the tire itself? Could it have been something stuck in the tire tread which hit the wheel well? You didnīt hear any rubbing?

Re: strange rubbing

Nope.....i hear no rubbing at all and there is no rubbing sign on the tyre. But the sign on the plastic is definitely rubbing. There is enough clearance between the tyre and the plastic even with the wheels fully turned even (steering wheel has no more space to turn).

Strange ......

Re: strange rubbing

Could be rubbing while under actual driving conditions. Your vehicle will lean in and out of turns. That might be what you're seeing - wheel rub from Jeep lean during cornering.
