stuttering problem

Hello All;
We have a 2005 jeep grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4.Normally I use Chevron fuel for the last 10 years and had no problems.
We had to stop to get fuel and the only fuel was from Super Save gas.After 5 min on the highway and when I went to give it more fuel it would stumble like a miss.This happens from 80km but nothing before that.I have been trying to find things out on line and I got 10 different answers. Personally I think it is the fuel because it ran great till we put that fuel in.
So does anyone have any idea what the problem could be.Trying to avoid the dealerships because of the hourly charges.
Hope someone can shed some light on this. Thankyou
AL

Re: stuttering problem

Could be excess water/condensation in the gasoline. This is somewhat common with budget fuel suppliers, especially ones that don't properly maintain the tanks/filters. This can cause all kinds of run/performance problems and, at a minimum, ruin your O2 Sensors and eventually the Catalytic Converters. There is plenty of info. on the Web about the symptoms and how to cure it. Be careful and, if you suspect this, fix it ASAP. Let us know what you find.

Re: stuttering problem

Re: stuttering problem

Agreed, probably the cheapo gas, as no symptoms til then. Another point is don't buy gas from any station where the tanker is there refilling. When they fill the stations tanks, it stirs up the crap from the bottom and it then takes some time to settle.

A big X2 on this one. If I see a tanker at the station, I won't go near it for at least 2 hours. If gives time for the crap to settle back to the bottom.
