Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

Has anyone explored adjusting shift points? I feel like my jeep only has issues when the rpms are low and I increase throttle without it downshifting. If i'm going just under 40 mph at 1100 rpm, the shutter is the worst.

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

The shop feels something is starving the engine. Such as a clogged cat because all of a sudden I loose power ad have to push the pedal basically down to the floor.

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

Haha that's crazy! Is there a computer method you can check for a clogged cat? The expert seems to be almost positive risotto the tranny.

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

Did you check your transmission oil levels? Have you had a recent trans service? Under filled or overfilled trans can create those issues. Try pulling some codes, could also be your vehicle speed sensors giving out. They are really easy to change out and are located on the outside of the trans. Sensors are 20 dollars each and take about 5 minutes to install. Bad VS sensors can create the surging and pulsing you are talking about. Just some thoughts

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

I can't believe you still own this vehicle. Chrysler should take your vehicle and fix it for free. There's got to be some lemon laws going in your favor somewhere. Just recently bought an 05 wk 4.7 v8 4x4 154,000 miles. I'm getting the shudder right at 40 mph up to 60 mph. I sure would like a solution. I've owned it 1.5 months.

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

I went back to the shop and they checked all fluid levels and everything is good. Tranny was rebuilt less thena year ago. I had one speed sensor go bad about 2 years ago and got a code for it and abs light. No other ones since then.

I wish Chrysler would fix this car for me. I do love the vehicle but hate this ongoing issue. Or maybe give me an srt for all my troubles . One can dream....
