Surprisingly I didn't get much smoke, will try it again on Thursday. I didn't think I used it correctly. But will replace Tps on Thursday too.

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

OP, have you tried replacing your EGR valve? I have the 5.7 and had problems with surging around 40mph, replaced the EGR valve, and all my sorrows are gone. I know on the Hemi, the valve needs to be replaced every 30k miles.

I don't believe the 3.7's have an EGR valve

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

Ok guys just an update on the situation:

Today I ran sea foam through the vacuum line correctly, waited 20 minutes and got tons of white smoke!! I also replaces the throttle position sensor and reset the cars computer.

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

Okay so after replacing the throttle position sensor, resetting the cars computer and sea foaming! the problem still does exist, so you don't need to change the tps! its so frustrating how this still happens and no codes! the jeep drives perfectly except this annoyance, although it is barely noticeable I am a daily driver and pretty OCD about my jeep! I hope eventually I can find a solution. I just wonder if it could be a coil or something with the fuel pump.....

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

I really can't think of anything else wrong with it, unless to change all the coils. But if they were bad it would throw a misfire code right?

Thanks! It was horrible on my 200 miles trip on the highway pulsing the whole way! after i put in some better spark plugs + sea foam the problem is a lot better! but still can be quite annoying..

Does your problem happen when the jeep is accelerating and u feel a pulse? then if you give it some more gas it will go away?

Sometimes. Other times it will start pulsing/bucking badly and i will give it more gas and the rpm's dont even go up( this usually happens when going up hill) It doesnt always happen though. I have a small hill I drive everyday to work and it only does it like half the time when going the same speed so i dont think it is a power issue. I am stumped as well

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

Same for me!!! It doesent happen all the time! Some times it drives great other times its bad! Can you hear the pulsing in your exhaust? And if its bucking my gfs car would buck and when you gave it more gas sometimes it didn't do anything! The problem was a cracked sparkplug. But my problem got a lot better after new sparkplugs. The only thing I can think of is to change all the coils. But that would be expensive especially because I have no check engine light!

Re: Surging, pulsing while driving

i have/had the same issue. after plugs, egrs, vacuum leaks fixed, it still does it. there is a "dead" spot in the accelerator at around 1700 rpms. i have noticed mine only does it in overdrive, and not when i put it in 4th. it appears to be an overdrive problem. i did find that if i reset the ecu it gets better for a while, until the ecu relearns my driving habits. i also notice it got a little better when i topped off my tranny fluid. but it never fully goes away.
