Tail light problem

Hi I am a new jeep owner and new to this site. I have noticed on my 2006 jeep wk lerado 3.7 qd1 that the rear maker light and brake light with not come on. pass side all work as normal as well an 3rd brake light. On drivers side there is no marker light or brake light but tail light comes on when headlmaps are on. all signals work both sides and all front lights work as normal. I have no trailer lights and checked and replaced all bulbs and fuses. Fuse number 8 was out when replaced it did not fix the problem. I have aslo changed all relays that I could find that apply to lights. I also tried a new turn signal swithch. and I cleaned and redid the ground wires under the rear seat. I am at a loss and wondering if anyone has fixed this or has any good ideas where to look next. Thanks for any help

Re: Tail light problem

Had a similar issue when I first bought my truck. Turned out that the previous owner had put in the wrong bulb for the brake light,so when I pulled it to see what to buy, thinking it was burnt out, I bought the wrong kind and the issue remained. I removed a 3156 and put in a 3157, problem solved. Also discovered in the process that my local auto parts store listed the wrong bulb as replacement as well.

Re: Tail light problem

I had that problem but mine was caused by an unrelated fuse which caused none of my center console lights to turn on and when i applied the brakes the brake lights came on, other wise they would remain off.

Be sure to check EVERY fuse

Which fuse did you have to change? I am having the same issue where my tail lights don't work and my center console lights are all off. I changed my parking light relay and that didn't solve anything.

Thanks!!

Can't recall. It seemed a no brained at the time, a homer moment... DOHHH

You'll just need a flash light and check them all under the hood
