Tailgate Struts.

Okay guys I need some guidance please. I looked all over the forum and can't find anything about it. The tailgate struts went out on my 2007 Laredo. Are they difficult to replace, because I haven't even had a chance to look. Also, does anyone know where to get the OEM ones and not pay an arm and a leg? I am paranoid I will buy the wrong thing and a dealer will charge a lot. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Re: Tailgate Struts.

They are really easy to replace - about a 10 minute job. You can get the OEM ones from just for jeeps for about $40 for the pair.

When I replaced mine, I went with aftermarket ones from rock auto (about $25 for the pair). They have been in for a year now and I have had no issues whatsoever.

Disregard this! You have a WK2 (2011 and up), so will get better advice posting in that section.

Doing a quick search, it looks like a lot of place are out of stock for both the manual and automatic lift gate struts.
