Ticking cam sensor & sl

I have a 03 wj 4.0 that I've been trying to fix since I've gotten 4 months ago. It runs pretty good now that I've replaced just about everything that matters but every so often it loses power and starts to stumble/jerk violently for bout 5-8 seconds than goes on normally again but it does feel a lil slugish off a dead stop and has a hard start in the mornings/cold start. I've replaced the camshaft when it would not start 3 days after I got it , it started but has a ticking sound coming from the new oem cam sensor , could the sensor be faulty ? Could the ticking cam sensor course this intermittent stumbling/stalling ? Could it be the oil pump drive shaft that's ticking and could be felt on the sensor ?
Maybe I jus have a ticking cam sensor and another issue in another place but I would like to get this jeep rite. I have a lot into it already. Thanks for any info on where to look or Check would be really appreciated!! Thanks

Re: Ticking cam sensor & sl

I would expect something wrong with the drive for the cam sensor pulse ring, the sensor itself has no moving parts.
Did you change the camshaft (as you wrote down), or only the cam sensor?
Also, you wrote in the WK section (05-10 grand cherokee), its better to keep your questions in the WJ section, where probably more people with the same jeep/engine see it.
