Hi my 05 wk has a mind of her own... When at highway speeds or high rpm(using the paddle shifter)the RPM drop to idle 900-1k then the trans is in like a free fall until u hit the gas get the RPM up to 4-5k then the trans clunks back in to drive. I have talked to a lot of plp and the only thing the can think of is the paddle shifter is bad or I need to reprogram the computer. I don't have sufficient funds to bring it in to the dealer or buy a new paddle shifter module ANY thoughts or the same problem out there I need some help. Thanks
I wasn't aware the th '05 WK had a paddle shifting option (unless you added them as a mod). If however, you're talking about the center console shifter (which I call a slap-shifter), then I would lean to a PCM/TCM problem.
Iv looked for leaks none I was wondering if I needed a 2nd trans flush but the fluid is clean and looks new I was wondering if I needed to get a 2nd fluid change I'm at 137k miles first fluid change was at 80k ish I don't know I'm stumped
have you noticed if when this happens the shift indicators on the gauges look like this
[P][R][N][D] with brackets around them.?
ill post some stuff you can read
