Transmission Question

I have a 2008 Grand Cherokee, i have been having some shifting problems with the transmission. Trans will shift but sometimes(especially in damp weather) will stay at a constant speed no matter how much gas I give it. If I stop and shut off and re-start it goes away and trans shifts normally. Hooked it up to computer and it says input speed sensor short in circut or poor electrical connection or failed input sensor. Does anyone know where the input sensor is and if it is a difficult repair job for a home mechanic?

Re: Transmission Question

the input speed sensor is going to be located on the "lead frame" (basically the circuit board in the trans) mounted above the valve body. Not a hard job but its more than just a couple bolts and there is potential for a huge headache.

One of the first things I like to look at on ANY NAG concern is the connector, if its leaking it would be the first thing I replaced along with making sure the fluid is at the proper level following the repair.
