Water inside my jeep

Hello everyone,

I was on my way home from work tonight and as I made the last turn to get to my house my left hand started to get wet. Windows were all closed. I stopped and looked around the window area and found out that the water is coming from the drivers side A-piller. I have no clue how long it has been doing this as this was the first time I got wet. You can see the head liner is wet and then goes down the A-piller. I pulled it all apart but I am unable to find where it is coming from. Anyone have any ideas? I am off to the dealership in the morning to see what they say about it. But any help from you guys would be great so I can point the dumb dumbs in the right direction if someone else has had this problem and were able to fix it. Thanks a head of time.

Paul

hi

I had same problem , if no sunroof it's the top corner of the windshield.
when you put apart the A pillar you don't see anything

If you have a sunroof make sure that the drain is not clogged, you can try compressed air to unclog it

see on the forum there are some threads

Re: Water inside my jeep

Old thread but did you ever get this resolved?

I'm having a similar issue with water at the drivers side a-pillar and also at the rear d-pillar(?) by the rear hatch. I thought that it is related to opening the rear hatch during the rain and the contents possibly draining into the vehicle somehow. I try not to open the hatch when it rains but forgot about it today. Opening the glass doesn't seem to affect it. I'm not sure if this is coincidence or not but its all I've got so far.

Any more thoughts?

Re: Water inside my jeep

I have the same issue, I have water coming out of the entry assist handle and the overhead center console. I checked the sunroof first, then the windshield and they looked good. So I poured some water into the sunroof water catch and the drain is definitely clogged. I will try some compressed air later. Thanks.

Re: Water inside my jeep

My issue is still ongoing but doesn't happen every time it rains.

I have narrowed it down to being something related to rear hatch. Basically, I've noticed that every time it rains (light or heavy) and I open the rear hatch during the rain for any extended period of time, I then get rain on the inside up front when I start driving around.

I think there might be some seal that's bad or it's just how the water sheds off the inclined hatch and then gets into the roof and travels towards the front once I start moving.

My solution so far is simply to use the glass when it's raining and avoid opening the rear hatch. I haven't had any water inside in a few months now and we've seen some significant rain/snow in that time in the DC area.

Re: Water inside my jeep

I was able to unclog the drain with compressor air. I poured some water in it after to make sure, and all of it came out just behind the front tire. Hopefully that does the trick, it was definitely clogged though.
