Wheel bearing stuck on shaft

It seems that the front right wheel bearing is refusing to budge and my local garage is unable to get it off the shaft. They have suggested that I take it to a commercial dealer or a Jeep dealer who may have a ox-acetalyne torch and they heat up the bearing to remove it. Will this damage the drive shaft?
Any suggestions? Thanks.

I used a propane torch and a screwdriver (to pry) with a sledge and about 30+ minutes of beating on it in order for my right wheel bearing to budge a few weeks back. I doubt the heat from the torch will cause any damage (it's basically all steel). I also soaked the piss out of mine in Pb Blaster, which seemed to make a pretty good difference too.

For those of us over 60 this used to be a common way of removing "stuck" wheel bearings.

Thanks for the re-assurance regarding the drive shaft. I am a total mechanical noobie. LOL!

Not sure I understand your comment as the workshop told me what needs to be done. They could not do it because they did not have the appropriate equipment.
