Where is the Immobiliser module- I've got fault code u0167

Does anyone know where the immobiliser control module is on a 2006 wk grand Cherokee. I think the official name is 'intrusion receiver control module.
Thank you

The module is called the SKREEM/WCM - Sentry Key Remote Entry Module / Wireless Control Module.

This SKREEM is attached to the ignition cylinder switch housing.

Re: Where is the Immobiliser module- I've got fault code u0167

I'm not familiar with the part linked to on ebay. It looks like that could be the receiver for the remote entry perhaps?

Haven't had any problems with mine, but the fault code you describe is linked the the one attached to the ignition.

Hopefully someone with direct experience can chime in...

Re: Where is the Immobiliser module- I've got fault code u0167

Thanks for reply again, Yes It is looking like it could be ignition lock module but I've been told a new one needs to be programmed by the dealer, which would mean getting it towed there costing a fortune. For the sake of 30 I might just try the intrusion module. If that doesn't fix it I will have to take the last resort and give the dealers a big pile of money.
Thanks again

Re: Where is the Immobiliser module- I've got fault code u0167

Had the jeep towed to the dealers today,
47 fault codes stored of numerous different things.
They have reset everything and now the car starts but there is still an active fault code B1247 and now the steering lock makes an awful screeching noise when I take the key out so the dealer says it needs a new steering lock (EVL) part no 05057278ac they want 600 all in.
Is this something I can fit myself ? And would it need programming ?
It's never made this noise before and I'm wondering why it is now the car is running.

Yikes! Sorry to hear that you're having so many problems.

I don't know anything about the steering column lock...usually they are just mechanical, so could be replaced without the dealer electronic tools, but I haven't even noticed if my jeep has one.

The lock is supposed to come on when you remove the key and it's an electrical unit so knowing jeep it will probably need to go back to jeep for programming again.
That's providing I can fit the lock myself
