WK 2005 Hemi Trans Noise

OK,so if I leave my WK sitting for over a few hours, crank it and put in reverse I get a "clunk" noise. I also get a similar noise when going down a slight grade and removing my foot from the gas pedal. Anyone had these issues in the past or heard of them? Thanks for any help.

Re: WK 2005 Hemi Trans Noise

It only happens after sitting for a few hours? You say transmission noise, but can't it be play in a prop shaft joint ?

Re: WK 2005 Hemi Trans Noise

OK so mostly overnight, when I go to back out of the driveway every morning or while sitting at work for 8 hours I get the noise. After driving the noise is not there unless I go down a hill and take my foot off the gas, then a similar noise appears.

Re: WK 2005 Hemi Trans Noise

Not familiar with the WK myself, but I do recall previous threads where worn bushings of the front diff caused noises. But check the U- joints in the prop shafts as well.

Sounds like deferential mounts. There are other threads discussing.
