Unhappy WK Key Fob Not Working

My key fob just started to play up. I thought it was the battery so bought it and replaced it and still nothing. Checked the battery with a multimeter and voltage is good. I try the other key fob that my wife uses on the GC and it works.

Did it just die? How do I fix it?

Re: WK Key Fob Not Working

VERY common for solders on the battery retainer to let go... pull the battery out and hit each of the 3 mount prongs with a solder iron (add some solder if required) and you should be good to go!

I did this recently too - not 100% fix, but more consistent than it was before.

I had the same issue and then I re-soldered it and it works like new.

Re: WK Key Fob Not Working

I resoldered mine a while ago and that worked...... For about a year...

I just bought a new key on eBay, uncut and the dealer cut it for free. $50 after everything

Programmed it myself using the original 2 keys

Re: WK Key Fob Not Working

You didnt need to cut another key, you could have just transfered the electronics out of it. That is what i did when mine bit the dust

Re: WK Key Fob Not Working

The electronics arent programmed at that point(you have to use the original 2 keys to do the programming) and the dealer wants a right n*t to program new keys.

I was going to just program the new one, and then swap but since the dealer cut it for free.... Hey... why not?
