Re: Wk/Wh 2005~ Grand Cherokee Faults And Issues

I've only heard of one other similar issue Mike, and it was traced to an overcharging alternator boiling the battery, causing acidic fumes to eat the wiring.
Keep us informed mate!

any they told me it most likely wont be covered by the powertrain warranty, how could that be possible?
I'm at a loss Matt to understand how these reflashes wouldn't be covered under factory extended warranty?
Can you let us know how you go after visiting the dealer so I may be able to update the original post once confirmed?
btw, "Service 4WD" is a common one and listed already.

Re: Wk/Wh 2005~ Grand Cherokee Faults And Issues

i talked to the service manager and he told me he didnt know what the mechanic who called me was smoking and that they were covered lol. i got all of them done for the $100 deductable and it works like a charm for the last two months. i was very happy that putting in the new transmission filters got rid of the delayed engagement and that the flash fixed the transmission hesitation. the warning didnt bother me that much, but i am happy it is gone.

Re: Wk/Wh 2005~ Grand Cherokee Faults And Issues

Hmmmm, pretty sure the rear tailshaft is extruded aluminium? Can't say I know of anyone who's had a uni fail as yet?

Are you asking or stating that the entire shaft requires replacement mate?

Yes the whole tail shaft has to be replaced, the yokes are a crimped type.

Is there a TSB for this issue?

Nav Radio keeps showing error message even though the dvd is perfect. This seems like a common problem?
